2015 saw the first ever Yorkshire Tag Championships take place with 20 teams registering for the event, including 9 teams making the journey ‘up north’ from London for a fun Tag filled weekend!

One year on and with twice as many people now playing Tag Rugby in Yorkshire as well as many of the teams who made the trip North last year planning to do so again, this year’s Yorkshire Tag Championships is set to be even bigger and better!

The event will see a fun day of Tag Rugby with both mixed and men’s leagues taking place. Don't forget to pack your party clothes as well as your Tag gear though! After the final whistle has been blown and the presentations made, the drinks will be flowing as the DJ cranks up the music and gets the after party underway in the clubhouse! Later on in the evening the party will move a short distance into the City where it will continue on into the night!

Teams, part teams and individuals can register for the event, with all standards welcome. For teams and players new to Tag Rugby there will be a rules briefing provided before the games get underway.

As well as the Tag Rugby there will be an award to the team in the best fancy dress. This year's theme, chosen by a poll on facebook and twitter, is anything beginning with the Letter T. Last years theme was ‘Cartoons’ with the Simpsons (pictured) from London winning the prestigeous award of best dressed team, can a team from Yorkshire bring the title home this year?

Stanningley Rugby Club is located 10 minutes drive across the valley from Headingley Stadium, the home of Leeds Rhinos. The venue is easily accessible from around West Yorkshire being less than 30 minutes drive from all of our current West Yorkshire venues. Being roughly 15 - 20 minutes drive from Leeds city centre, major motorways (M1 and M62), Leeds Rail Station and Leeds/Bradford Airport the venue is also easily accessible from around the rest of Yorkshire, the UK and abroad!

The tournament will kick-off at 11.00am and reach a conclusion at approximately 5pm.

We would love to welcome our Tag Rugby friends from around the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world to come and join the fun at the second Yorkshire Tag Championships. West Yorkshire is a great location to come on tour for a weekend with your team. It’s a beautiful place with lots to do as well as great night life! You can get from London to Leeds in just over 2hrs, and with advance tickets and group tickets offers there is no need to break the bank. The region is also home to the well connected Leeds Bradford Airport, and with 4 flights a day (Aer Lingus and Ryanair both have two flights) and a journey time of 1hr to Dublin our Tag Rugby friends in Ireland become only a stones through away!

How to Register

Registration is open to whole teams, part-teams and individual players who'd like to be placed in a team. Team places are available on a first to pay the deposit basis. Registration closes 9am, Monday 1st August.

Note: Any team organisers looking to re-register an existing team should login to their account here, and re-enter the team for a new league through the "my teams" tab on your player dashboard.

IMPORTANT: Registration is only confirmed by making payment of £140 for team registrations or the full £17 for individual registrations.

What happens after you have registered?

You will receive an e-mail straight away confirming your registration. We will then send you a welcome e-mail with further details about the event a few days before it takes place. If you are registering a team please make sure you enter all the players' names and e-mail addresses when you register your team. Anybody not registered in your team will not receive the welcome e-mail and other information/updates regarding the competition and won't be covered by our personal accident insurance.

Team organisers can add or remove players from their squad before the event by logging into our website and selecting My Teams.
